One our many first's as a married couple

This weekend Vinnie and I almost finished our Christmas shopping, only after 15 hours of shopping. AND we got our first Christmas tree. I never thought picking out a tree would be difficult, that is until Vinnie and I started walking around.. to be continued, because The Hills is coming on and I cannot miss it!

Tip of the Week: Is that a mole or poop on your face?

This tip of the week I had to learn the HARD way. When there is a time of crisis I consider myself to be more calm and collected than most. However, one particular night last week my brain and nerves failed me. Vinnie and I had gone out for a nice dinner/shopping date. It was wonderful, good food, wonderful wine, Christmas light were on sale, I bought some pretty ornaments to decorate our tree, we came in the house excited to lay down and relax for the night and POOP. Poop smell, poop nuggets, poop smears, poop on the dog, poop on the crate, poop on the toys, poop on the blanket, poop on the paws.......CRISIS! now most normal, calm & collected people would have picked up the crate, taken it out side, let the dog out then given the dog a spray down with the hose. No, not me. I opened the crate picked maya up and ran/walked her to the back door, which by the way i forgot to unlock and open. While attempting to unlock and open the back door, which also, by the way has 2 locks so double the trickiness, AND hold a 30 lb. squirming, poop covered dog, the above list continues, poop on my sweatshirt, poop in my hair, poop on my jeans, and poop ON MY FACE! Poop smeared across my right check down to my chin, seriously gross on so many different levels. So for the love of God and the beautiful face he gave you, don't pick up a poopy dog.

true story

P.S. thank you vinnie for being husband of the week and scrubbing up the mess!

Revenge

My chest hurts soooo badly today, every time I breath I have a shooting pain through my ribs and sternum. I'm pretty sure one of two things happened last night while I slept...... either I had a heart attack OR Vinnie gave me a "one knuckle" punch to the chest. And to be completely honest the later of the two options may in fact be the case. I say this because I did kick Vinnie really hard two nights ago while i was sleeping. And I don't mean we brushed legs together, or I simply rolled over on him.... Really, I PUNTED him right in the shins. Revenge is a ..............

MIA

So the past week I have been MIA as I have been feeling terrible; runny nose, soar throat, cough, headache, exhaustion.......... I didn't even play the Wii, which really means I was sick. But after sleeping 60 of the last 72 hours, I am feeling much, much better! Because I slept my life away over the weekend, I don't have much of anything to report, except that Vinnie and I are finally going to carpet our basement. Which sounds simple enough except that with every project we start, it seems to cost way more than we anticipated and creates way more work than desired. Vinnie has removed the current "UGLY, PLEASE REMOVE ME" rubber baseboards, he has 90% of the basement walls painted and is working on clearing the room of random stuff accumulated from moving in. I am working on staining new, wonderfully beautiful, real wood baseboards that Vinnie and I need to installed before the carpet comes. (side note: I really enjoy & am good at staining, so I am available for hire)

Reasons I am excited for this carpet:
1.) Maya and I will have a place to play lacrosse and run around like maniacs without her slipping and sliding on our hard wood floors.
2.) I enjoy nothing more than to sit on soft carpeting and fold, right out of the dryer, laundry.
3.) Carpet is AWESOME!
4.) The carpeting may make me actually WANT to go in the other 50% of our house for reasons other than doing laundry.

In Honor of Opening Day

In honor of Opening day of Deer Season here is a picture of the glorious driveway to the Chiodo Cabin (aka Stone Camp). Ahhhh, so pretty!
